Meet Avery

Avery graduated from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia in 2020 after transferring from the University of Oregon—her mom always joked that "ducks fly south!" Instead of returning to Charlotte, Avery chose to stay in Athens, GA, where she built a strong and supportive community. After four years of serving small business owners as an accountant, she decided to take the leap and start her own firm. In July 2024, Erm Accounting was born.

Erm is dedicated to providing small business owners with financial clarity through comprehensive services, including bookkeeping, tax planning, CFO support, and more. Avery understands that many business owners find managing finances challenging or unenjoyable, which is where Erm steps in. Beyond delivering financial solutions, Erm focuses on building strong relationships with clients. By getting to know each client personally, their goals become clearer, making the entire process more enjoyable and effective for everyone involved. Erm aims to go beyond transactional services, offering a communicative and tailored accounting experience.

Outside of Erm, Avery enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, and needlepoint. While she is still on her journey to becoming a scratch golfer, she treasures the friendships, opportunities, and travel experiences that golf has brought into her life. Additionally, Avery has pursued sommelier and WSET certifications, which have deepened her appreciation for wine regions and added an intriguing dimension to her travels. When not in Athens, Avery and her husband, Zander, enjoy spending time in Charleston. Avery is actively involved at Classic City Church and serves on the board of the Georgia Children’s Chorus.
